Family and friends: I am relieved to announce that we will finally be able to lay my Dad (Sammy Martinez) to rest on Saturday, Sept. 17.
His celebration of life and funeral service will be held at Pope John Paul II Catholic Church at 353 S. Pagosa Blvd. in Pagosa Springs.
The rosary will start at 9 a.m., followed by the eulogy at 9:30 a.m. and the Mass at 10 a.m.
We will then all drive down to the Trujillo Cemetery for his burial and military honors, with a potluck lunch to follow immediately after the burial behind the little church in Trujillo.
