Pagosa Springs Police Department respond to active threat investigation

The following release was provided by Pagosa Springs Police Chief William R. Rockensock:

"Today August 24, 2022, at approximately 11:43 am Pagosa Springs Police Officers and area law enforcement were dispatched to an alleged active threat at the City Market store 165 Country Center Drive. 
"Upon officer’s arrival no person was located. 
"Within minutes Colorado State Patrol located a vehicle associated with a person of interest in the Walmart parking lot 211 Aspen Village Dr. 
"Deputies from the Archuleta County Sheriff’s Office entered the Walmart and detained the person of interest. 
"Upon completion of the investigation by the Pagosa Springs Police Department, there is no cause for the safety of concern of the public related to this incident. 
"No active threat to any person or business ever existed. 
"The male subject was released without charges."
