Special Olympics athletes and volunteers gather at Pagosa Springs High School on July 28 for a night of games, pizza and information on the program and its upcoming events. On July 29, Special Olympics of Colorado held a “Med-Fest” for its athletes, where attendees were given free health screenings and physicals so that athletes can safely compete in their sports this year. Special Olympics of Colorado works to ensure that by participating in sports, people with intellectual disabilities live active and healthy lives, according to its stated vision on its website.
