We are pleased to announce the results of our participatory voting process last week. A total of 148 people voted and the proposal ranked as the highest priority by the community was Grow More Local Produce.

1. Grow More Local Produce: 538 points.

2. Community Food and Nutrition Education Program: 489 points.

3. Free Food Mobile Market: 482 points.

4. Design of Local Food Hub: 371 points.

5. Nutrition Security Health Navigator Program: 340 points.

The Grow More Local Produce proposal is aimed at supporting increased and sustained local food production in Archuleta County. This program will attempt to increase the number of growers by supporting more growing spaces (backyards, patios, indoor home environments as well as public spaces). This program will also help support more local farms to both increase production and extend the growing season.

We appreciate your participation and look forward to future participatory processes that invite and welcome the community’s voice into Healthy Archuleta’s decisions.
