As we race into June, the 13th annual Pagosa Springs Car Show is just around the corner. Stunning classic cars and motorcycles will take to Lewis Street beginning Friday evening, June 10, at 5 p.m. for the Street Party.

The street will be filled with stunning cars; delicious food vendors; beer, wine and crafted cocktails will be available; and live music by the Rob Lowe band will fill the air. Spectators can get their first glimpse of the vehicles as proud owners show off in 16 different classes.

Vehicles can start lining up at 3 p.m.; however, the festivities will not kick off until 5 p.m. Get out of work and head downtown for an evening of fun and lots of eye candy. The cars will be at the show until 8 p.m. Spectators and car entrants should then head over to the Athletic Field in Town Park for a free car-themed movie hosted by the Pagosa Springs Police Department. Enjoy the free movie along with free popcorn, hotdogs and lemonade. The movie will begin at approximately 9 p.m. when it gets dark, and you won’t want to miss this classic movie.

On Saturday, June 11, the Show and Shine will begin at 9 a.m. Even more cars and motorcycles will arrive and fill up Lewis Street. The live music this day will be performed by Bruce Wayne Classic Rock and Country. Spectators and participants will be able to vote for their favorite car for the People’s Choice award through your phone — super easy. There will also be awards for all of the different car classes. The awards ceremony will take place beginning at 2 p.m. Throughout the day, there will also be a kid’s corner — car themed, of course. New this year will also be a costume contest where car participants can dress to match the era of their car. It is a fun and colorful era-themed activity. There will be Car Show merchandise and vendors in attendance.

The Chamber is excited to announce that after a COVID hiatus, the Adventure Package Raffle will be returning. A beautiful blue RZR and towing trailer will be the first-place prize, a Kona Lava Dome 29 mountain bike will be the second-place prize and a collapsible SUP with all the accessories will be the third-placed prize. Whereas, previously, the raffle winner won all three prizes, now there are three chances to win some fabulous outdoor gear — with the grand prize being the loaded RZR and towing trailer. Tickets will be on sale at the Car Show; however, the winning tickets will not be drawn until Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. at ColorFest’s Band and Brews.

There are a few important notices about the Car Show. Lewis Street will be closed off to through traffic beginning Friday morning, June 10, at 10 a.m. and will remain closed until 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 11. You can access Lewis Street going east from 4th Street. Also, the Lewis Street alley will also remain open. Dogs are allowed at the Car Show as long as they are leashed, which is also the town’s animal control requirement. No other animals, skateboards, hoverboards, bicycles or other types of equipment are allowed. We would like to avoid any possible accidents to these collectible cars and motorcycles. Entrance to the show for the participants will be from 2nd Street. Look for the flags marking the route.

Whether a car participant or a spectator, come out and enjoy this 13th annual car extravaganza.

This will also be the weekend for the Folk n’ Bluegrass Festival on Reservoir Hill and there is plenty of time to enjoy both events.
