Thingamajig Theater Company is excited to bring professional theater back to the Pagosa Springs Center for the Arts this summer.

Three musicals are scheduled, with opening night for “Bright Star” on June 3, “Guys and Dolls” on June 17 and the hilarious family musical “The SpongeBob Musical” on July 1.

With the company of professional actors in residence comes educational opportunities for youth in our community. Whatchamawhozits kids camp for 7- to 12-year-olds is in July, and there will be opportunities for teens beginning in June.

Another benefit for local teens is free attendance to our final dress rehearsal for each of our three summer shows. Parents of teens, mark your calendars for June 2, June 16 and June 30 at 7 p.m. for your teenagers to attend the final dress rehearsal performances.

Thingamajig Theater will be hosting auditions for a few teens to join the production of “The SpongeBob Musical” as part of our ThingamaWHO program. This program has brought audiences past productions of “Pinkalicious” and “Alice in Wonderland JR.”

ThingamaWHO participation allows our local teens to work alongside professional performers and production teams and learn under directors. The ThingamaWHO program is free and auditions are open to 13- to 18-year-olds. Teens interested in auditioning can submit a video singing 16 bars of any song of their choice to thingamajigbox@gmail.com.
