In recognition of Presidents Week and the sprouting of spring, the Sarah Platt Decker Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution delivered various items to the Colorado Veterans Community Center at Homelake in Monte Vista, Colo.

Items included presidential fact bookmarks, art supplies, night lamps, ball caps, large-print game books, boxes of greeting cards, calendars, paper tablets, items to celebrate Mardi Gras and St. Patrick’s Day, plus homemade goodies to look like spring flowers and more.

The wish list at Homelake is long and varied. Keeping active seniors busy and engaged is important.

“Members donate generously their time, talents and supplies. It’s a privilege for me to watch our members brainstorm for ways to give even more and go the extra mile. We try to make a trip quarterly to support the Veterans Living Center at Homelake. It is important to remember our veterans and remember them often,” said Tanice Ramsperger, regent of the chapter.

Later this month, on March 29, the Sarah Platt Decker Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution and Homelake will be among the 12,000+ Vietnam War Commemoration partners to welcome home and honor Vietnam veterans.
