The Ruby M. Sisson Memorial Library Foundation invites you to The Library Affair, a gala event to help raise funding for the exciting future library expansion.
The Library Affair will take place on April 9 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association clubhouse, located at 230 Port Ave.
The centerpiece of the event will feature 17 table settings based on book themes. The contents of the tables will be silent auctioned to the highest bidders. The book themes range from children’s stories such as “The Trumpet of the Swan” by E.B. White to classic novels such as “Pride and Prejudice” by Jane Austen. Also included is a table based on “Southwest Indian Nations: Southwest Indian Recipes” by Lois Ellen Frank.
“The creativity of our decorators is absolutely stunning,” said Lynne McCrudden, event coordinator. “We have some of our community’s most experienced and artistic designers on hand to decorate these amazing tables.”
The gala event will include delicious delights provided by Pagosa Springs High School culinary class as well as beautiful classical guitar music provided by Steve Blechschmidt. A cash wine and beer bar also will be available to toast the evening.
Tickets are $50 each and will go on sale March 15 both online and at the library (cash or check only). You may also go online to get a peek at the table designs and, for only $1, vote for your favorite tables. The table that wins the most votes by April 8 will receive the prestigious Pagosa Pulitzer Prize, with permanent recognition displayed at the library.
