The inaugural Old-Fashioned Christmas Celebration held on Dec.18 was a huge success. Thanks to everyone that attended and helped make the evening magical.

A massive community event like this does not happen without a lot of help from volunteers.

A heartfelt thank you to all of the volunteers and staff that helped with 18 months of planning, set up, running the event and clean up, including (in no particular order): Jon Johnson, Kristi Smith, Terri House, Shari Pierce, Camilla Gostynski, Davis Parker, Andrea Phillips, Gregg Smith, Jamie Carothers, Darren Lewis, Michael and Anne Franklin, Tony and Lisa Baker, Greg and Diann Morebe, Michelle Johnson, Tyler Johnson, Nicole Geiger, Boyd Neagle, Tina Remlinger, Matt Phillips, Julian Caler, Mary and Mike Helminski, Lauri Heraty, Jenene Crowder, Jana Schick, Tracy Stimpson, Mary Jo Coulehan, Kim Hartfiel, Mike Hodgson, Don Volger, Martin Schmidt, Buck Pierce, Randi Everett, Mike Pierce and Cheryl Bowdridge.

A big thanks to the sponsors and organizers of the event, the Pagosa Springs Area Tourism Board, the Town of Pagosa Springs and The Pagosa Springs SUN. And, even more thanks to all of the segment adoptees, who bought into a first-year event and helped us create the evening we had long envisioned: Knights of Columbus, Chimney Rock Interpretive Association, GOAL High School, Pagosa Escape Zone, Soul Medicinals Massage, Girl Scouts Troop No. 26237, Pagosa Youth Soccer — Rangers, Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership, Pagosa Adventure, St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, Buckaroos Horse-Drawn Rides, Humane Society Animal Shelter, United Way of Southwest Colorado, Pagosa Springs Medical Center EMS, Our Savior Lutheran Church, Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, Jason Rose and the Jackson Mountain Ramblers, San Juan Outdoor Club, Rotary Club of Pagosa Springs, Centerpoint Christmas Choir, Willow and Reed Design Co., and the Pagosa Fire Protection District.
