Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership

It’s time to give where you live. Dec. 7 — next Tuesday — is Colorado Gives Day.

That’s the day when donations are given to the Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership (GGP). It’s easy to register as a donor. Just go on-line to https://www.coloradogives.org/geothermalgreenhousepartnership and use the login link in the upper right.

The GGP is a community-centered nonprofit serving Pagosa Springs and Archuleta County — “Growing Food and Community with Local Energy!” GGP donates freshly harvested produce to local food pantries each week. In fact, since 2020, GGP has supplied hundreds of pounds of fresh produce to our community food pantries, Food Coalition and Farmers Market.

The GGP’s volunteers, and your donations, manage three greenhouses at our educational site on the San Juan Riverwalk downtown. The GGP uses geothermal heat and solar-generated electricity to grow year-round.

The GGP is now a Colorado Gives partner and you can join us in giving where you live. The educational nonprofit hopes to reopen to classes and workshops soon, but the safety of our community remains our priority. With the support of our donors and sponsors, the volunteer- and donor-driven organization remains strong and committed to community service. You can give where you live at www.coloradogives.org/geothermalgreenhousepartnership or www.pagosagreen.org.

The GGP has board vacancies. We encourage motivated volunteers with nonprofit management, environmental education or vegetable growing experience to contact ggp@pagosagreen.org. Visit the GGP at www.ColoradoGives.org/geothermalgreenhousepartnership or www.facebook.com/geothermalgreenhousepartnership.

We’ll be conducting greenhouse tours at upcoming special events and look forward to fully opening to the public again soon. See you on the Riverwalk.
