Town of Pagosa Springs

A multimodal transportation master plan is underway for Pagosa Springs’ East End area.

The “East End” area extends roughly between 1st Street to just east of the U.S. 160/84 intersection. “Multimodal” emphasizes a variety of transportation modes in addition to vehicles including cycling and walking, as well as public parking, and access to businesses and public spaces.

This multimodal master planning process is currently assessing the existing situation, identifying challenges, barriers, needs and ideas. Then the town’s consultant team will put together some possible scenarios that achieve the long-term vision and share them with the public for comments.

Based on the public feedback, the team will list priorities and make recommendations on specific transportation improvements to meet the variety of users’ and community needs. The master plan’s goal is to create a stronger connection between the East End to other areas of town, while providing a better functioning multimodal environment that supports access to businesses and recreational opportunities as well as public parking for residents and visitors.

The town is currently seeking public input and ideas on the East End existing conditions and barriers and challenges. Please visit www.MyPagosa.org to participate in a virtual open house, see the project boards and provide your thoughts. You may also sign up for updates on future steps in the process. Opportunities to comment will be available online at each step of the project.

The virtual open house will be active through Wednesday, Nov. 24 — please visit www.MyPagosa.org today and make your comments known.
