Andrew “Andy” James Rowland (Drew Bear) of Fredericktown, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 26, at the age of 48. He was born on July 22, 1973, in Chaffee, Mo., to the late Patricia Franks Smith.
Andy is survived by his loving wife, Gina Rowland. They were married Oct. 16, 1993, and to this union two children were born, Kyle Rowland and wife Brianna Rowland, of Belleview, Mo., and Lauren Rowland, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.
Andy is preceded in rest by his mother, Patricia Franks Smith, and grandparents Ruth and Wilbur Franks, of Fredericktown, Mo.
After high school, Andy completed a full career in service to his country in the United States Air Force. While serving his country, Andy flew EC 130s and NATO AWACS as a dually trained radio operator and airborne maintenance technician, all while attending the Community College of the Air Force, where he obtained several degrees. Once he retired from the Air Force with over 20 years of service, Andy focused on enjoying his free time while raising and supporting his family.
Andy is remembered as a loving and caring father, a loyal husband and a wonderful friend. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations and memorials may be made to Andy’s family to be dispersed among Andy’s favorite organizations.
