The annual Community Fall Festival and Raffle will be held on Sunday, Sept. 12, at Town Park from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. This is a free event and everyone in the community is welcome.

There will be free food provided by the Knights of Columbus, kids’ lawn games, snow cones and a cash bar. The Retro Cats band will donate their time and musical talent.

The Pagosa line dancers will provide additional entertainment. This dance group started 14 years ago as an offshoot of the Pagosa Women’s Club. Under the leadership of Beverly Chester, it is an ever-growing group of men and women who want to learn and enjoy line dancing. They meet every Monday morning at the Pagosa Lakes Property Owners Association Clubhouse; everyone is welcome.

We are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of Archuleta Housing Corporation, which is a nonprofit organization that provides affordable housing for 150 residents in Pagosa Springs.

There will be a fantastic raffle with the following prizes: first prize, $1,500; second prize, a side of beef donated by the Bramwell Family; third prize, $500. Tickets are $10 each and available at the Pope John Paul  II Catholic Church office, (970) 731-5744, and Town Park. The drawings for these prizes start at 3 p.m.

In addition, there will be brown bag raffles. Tickets are $1 each, or six tickets for $5, and drawings will start at 2:30 p.m. The prizes for this raffle are donated by local and out-of-town businesses.

Mark your calendar for this family event and spend a day full of fun, fellowship, wonderful food and the opportunity to win cash and fabulous prizes.
