Humane Society of Pagosa Springs
It’s auction time. The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs’ annual Auction for the Animals, our largest and most important fundraising event of the year, is underway. This year’s event features an extended online silent auction and a one-night virtual gathering.
Access to the auction and the virtual event is easy. Log on to either hspagosa.org or HSPSAuction.givesmart.com for all the information you need.
Admission to both the silent auction and virtual event is free with unlimited online seating and is open for everyone, anywhere. Online previewing of silent auction items starts now. Auction bidding opened June 28 and culminates July 5. As always, the auction will be chock full of items that run the gamut from the unique to the utilitarian, from the precious to the practical. Find great presents for yourself and awesome gifts for family, friends and four-legged furry companions, too.
The one-night virtual event takes place the evening of July 3, starting at 6:30 p.m. The highlight of the virtual affair will be the second annual Pet Fashion Show featuring dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, pigs, goats, chickens and snakes doing their best to strut, or slither, the runway for your viewing entertainment. Create your own cocktail party and join us for an hour of pet fashion fun along with some great stories about some of the awesome and deserving shelter animals that found their forever homes this past year.
Log on to hspagosa.org or HSPSAuction.givesmart.com to preview auction items, participate in bidding, watch our virtual pet fashion show or find out about our local restaurant partners who will be donating to the animal shelter. Get a great meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner and support the shelter dogs and cats — it’s a win-win.
The success of our annual Auction for the Animals can make a significant difference in our ability to create a safe haven for our community’s lost, abandoned and homeless animals. Funds raised through the auction help us provide shelter, food, vaccines and medical care for nearly 700 animals that will call the shelter home during the year, at least until a family and a forever home can be found for them. Please join us and lend your support to give the shelter animals the quality care they truly need and deserve.
The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs is a local private nonprofit organization that operates the only animal shelter in Archuleta County. Your local humane society does not receive funding from the Humane Society of the United States, American Humane, ASPCA or any other national animal welfare organizations. Donations, memberships and thrift store revenues cover only a portion of animal shelter operating expenses. The remainder of shelter costs must be met in part through fundraising events like the Auction for the Animals.
The Humane Society of Pagosa Springs is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, all donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. For more information, call (970) 264-5549 or visit humanesociety.biz.
