2021/03/obit-sammet-image0-215x300.jpgJohn King Sammet was born April 23, 1943, in Newton, Mass. He is survived by his sons, Gerhard and George, and wife of 56 years, Al. He served for the Army and traveled all over the world, fighting in the Vietnam conflict and eventually retiring as a major. He was heavily into computer programming from the beginning of the technology, starting with punch cards in the ‘60s and ending with the iPad. He enjoyed scuba diving and the sunny beaches all over the world. He passed away on March 1 peacefully in his home. Funeral services will be privately held. John was beloved for his sharp wit and humor.
