Joe (Jose) was raised on a ranch and always worked hard to care for his family. He raised his family in Pagosa Springs, where he worked at Archuleta County as a heavy equipment operator for many years. He loved fishing, horseback riding, working on projects at home and loved telling stories of all his life’s journeys. He loved to laugh and treasured the time he was able to spend time with his family.

Joe (Jose) is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruby Jaramillo; daughters Loretta (Nik) Paniagua and Maryann (Larry) Abeyta; and son Joseph (Cari) Jaramillo. He was a grandfather to nine and a great-grandfather to eight.

He will be missed dearly by those who loved, cared and knew him and took the time to spend with him. Those moments will be cherished.

There will be no services to honor his wishes. There will be a Celebration of Life for him later this spring.

We appreciate all who have offered their support and love during this difficult time.

Dad … Remembering you is easy, I do it everyday. Missing you is the heartache that never goes away … you saw me take my first breath and I held your hand as I saw you take your last. I love and miss you Dad, you will forever be in my heart! Loretta
