The Burns Canyon fire is 75 percent contained at approximately 5 acres in size, according to San Juan National Forest Public Affairs Officer Esther Godson.
Additional resources are on scene, including two more engines, a Wildland Fire Module (10 firefighters) and Pagosa water pender.

Previous update:
A fire was reported near the top of Burns Canyon just after noon today.
According to San Juan National Forest Public Affairs Officer Esther Godson, the fire is 2 acres in size with low-to-moderate spread potential in Gambel oak and ponderosa.
Forest Service resources are on scene and a Type 2 helicopter is providing water drops.
