Archuleta County Central Call Center established

Special to The SUN

With the collaboration of several organizations and individuals, including the Pagosa Springs Area Chamber of Commerce, Archuleta County will have a central call center. The number for the call center is (970) 422-7084. Callers will be calling into a main number.

They have the choice then for La Plata or Archuleta County. When the caller selects Archuleta County, an individual will come on the line and assist you with questions you may have and record your needs and forward to an agency that could assist you.

There is a range of assistance programs from food sources, to meals, to filing for unemployment, to business financial assistance programs to counseling services. The call center is designed to assist people with finding the resource that might be able to help them.

The needs of the community are great. Food security is one of the greatest concerns right now. The request for weekly food boxes has already been seen to increase and the demand is expected to grow in the upcoming weeks. If you are able at all, please consider buying an extra item or two and donate to one of the food distribution locations noted in a related article in this week’s SUN.

There are also ways that you can contribute money to the central food sourcing. More information will be available in the upcoming weeks and on the Chamber website, www.pagosachamber.com. Don’t hesitate to use the central call center number. People are there to help you and direct you to the appropriate agencies or to try and answer even simple questions you may have about assistance or a question of clarification. Additional questions can be directed to Mary Jo Coulehan at the Chamber at 264-2360.
