Loaves and Fishes is going green to help protect the environment. Thanks to a grant from Onward! A Legacy Foundation in Cortez, guests will no longer receive styrofoam containers when they request to-go meals. Now, take out food is being served in completely biodegradable boxes. After enjoying a free lunch in-house, guests are allowed to receive two extra meals to take home or to their neighbors. Loaves and Fishes serves a free community lunch to everyone seeking food or fellowship every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Parish Hall on Lewis Street. Pictured above, some of the regular weekly volunteers show off the new containers. All are welcome at the free weekly meal.
