Scout Troop 807 participated in the District Camporee, held April 26-28. Scouts and Venture crews from throughout the San Juan Mountain District convened for a two-night event at Ute campground in outdoor skills including cooking, lashing, fire building, knot-tying, first aid and orienteering. The troop is gearing up for an active summer, including a climb up Pagosa Peak, backpacking and rafting trips, and trail service projects in conjunction with the Pagosa Area Trails Council. Boy Scouts of America programs provide citizenship, ethics, adventure, learning, challenge and responsibility to boys and girls alike from kindergarten through age 20.
