Spring road closures begin on the Rio Grande National Forest

Due to early spring melting, the Rio Grande National Forest has begun temporarily closing some forest roads to motorized traffic to protect road surfaces. Driving on soft roadbeds can cause unnecessary damage to the roads and may lead to increased sedimentation in creeks.
