2018/11/obit-Allison-214x300.jpgJulie Lynn Allison, 51, passed away on Nov. 13, after bravely and fiercely battling ovarian cancer for four years.

Julie was born to Jimmy and Joyce (Jenkins) Coombes in Roanoke, Va. She graduated from Putnam City West High School, Bethany, Okla., Oklahoma Baptist University, Shawnee, Okla., with a degree in exercise science, and OU Health Science Center with a degree in physical therapy. In keeping with her love of adventure, she spent several years traveling around the U.S. as a physical therapist, meeting her husband, Ian, and making many friends along the way. Julie and Ian are formally of Pagosa Springs, Colo., and started their family there.

She lived for Jesus first, then family, friends and fun. Julie was her happiest either kayaking the Guadalupe, hiking an alpine trail in Colorado, completing the Great North Run half marathon in England, “racing the train” Iron Horse bike race from Durango to Silverton, walking on any beach, or just lounging in the pool with friends.

Whether it was playing a round of golf with Mia, sitting in the stands watching Peyton play basketball, attending Luke’s football games, or enjoying helping him with one of his school’s theater productions, she and Ian found every moment precious that they were able to spend with their family.

Julie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 22 years, Ian Allison; daughters Peyton and Mia; son Luke; mother Joyce Coombes, Bethany, Okla.; brother Jimmy (Vickie) Coombes and family, Yukon, Okla. She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Coombes.

Julie’s family would like to thank the doctors and staff at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston for all of their care.

A celebration of Julie’s life will be held Saturday Dec. 1, at 11 a.m. at Gruene United Methodist Church, 2629 E. Common St., New Braunfels, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Julie’s name may be made to the Allison Children College Fund at Chase Bank, Account #3729128133, 690 S. Walnut Ave., New Braunfels, TX 78130-5723.
