Special to The PREVIEW

Join musician and music therapist Paul Roberts for a free hand-drumming class at the Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at noon.

The class offers a welcoming environment that encourages fun, creativity, playfulness and connecting with others. Drums are provided for those who do not have one.

“Thank you for offering the drumming class. It is a gift to all who come,” said Margaret Alandt. “I’ve been visiting in Colorado from Michigan. ... I’m not a musician, but I became interested in drumming a number of years ago when a musician friend and music therapist began a drumming circle. It was an enjoyable way to gather with others and make music in a fun and relaxed way with no expectations or judgments.”

She continued, “I had a similar experience on Tuesday. We began with learning a few simple techniques followed by a delightful hour of drumming. I left refreshed and grateful to connect with others in this way.”

Designed as an opportunity for people of all ages to unleash their creativity, the drumming class is a family-friendly activity. No previous experience is necessary. For more information, call 731-3117. The Pagosa Lakes Clubhouse is located at 230 Port Ave.
