Fire claims family’s home

A family’s home on Highlands Avenue was lost to fire damage, along with smoke and water damage, on Sunday afternoon. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. Three pets that resided at the location were at home during the time of the fire; a cat and a dog were able to escape the fire, but one family dog is still missing.[/caption]

A Pagosa family lost their Highlands Avenue home to fire Sunday afternoon.

At 3:14 p.m. on Nov. 11, the Pagosa Fire Protection District (PFPD) responded to a call for a porch on fire. The call was initiated by the homeowner calling 911.
