Special to The PREVIEW
It’s a barn dance. The Pagosa Rotary Club is hosting the fourth annual Jewels and Jeans Barn Dance the evening of Oct. 20 from 7 to 11 p.m at the Archuleta County CSU Extension building. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Country Thunder will be the live band playing boot-scootin’ country music for line dancing and your favorite swing moves. Band members include Clay Campbell on bass guitar, Dave Chambers on drums, Dennis Kleckner and Greg Guitar strumming guitars, and all gentlemen contribute to the singing.
Tickets are $15 per person in advance or $25 for two and can be purchased at Exit Realty, Choke Cherry Tree, Happy Trails or from any noon Rotarian. Tickets will be $20 at the door for a single ticket or $30 for two.
There will be barbecue available on-site for purchase for a snack or a meal, and a cash saloon will be available with a full bar. Local retailers and restaurants have donated items that will be part of a drawing for anyone who purchases a chance to win.
A live auction will include several valuable items and even a guided fishing tour and lunch with Gary Morris. There will also be a sexiest cowboy and cowgirl contest. So, get ready to gussy it up. Come and have a fabulous hoedown.
Profits from the barn dance are spread throughout the community in the form of scholarships, food-filled backpacks for youth needing weekend meals, dictionaries for third-graders and awards to send our youth leaders to leadership camps.
Support these community projects and have a fun-filled evening with friends and neighbors at the Jewels and Jeans Barn Dance. Buy your tickets today as there are only a limited number of tickets available.
