On Saturday, Sept. 8, at 3 p.m., there will be a Walk and Talk for “Rise for Climate,” an international event about renewable energy, at the Geothermal Greenhouse Partnership Amphitheater. These events precede the international Global Climate Action Summit in San Francisco on Sept. 12-14. Its stated goal is to showcase climate action taking place around the world and inspire deeper commitments from each other and from national governments. Shown, left to right, are Cedar McGrath for Weminuche Audubon, Joan Ward for the Pagosa Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and Pauline Benetti for the GGP and the Southwest Organization for Sustainability. Also sponsoring the event is the Archuleta County Democratic Party.
