Are you interested in sharing your love for the natural world with the youth of Pagosa Springs? For over 10 years, Audubon Rockies has worked to foster a deeper appreciation for the special place we live in to the kindergarten through fourth-grade students of our community.
Whether learning about the relationships between plants and people or the wonders of insect metamorphism or simply embarking on a hike to explore the varied habitat types found at our program site, students leave with a more developed connection to this unique corner of the state.
If you are interested in volunteering for a few days this fall, please contact Southwest Colorado Community Naturalist Keith Bruno at kbruno@audubon.org.
We’ll host a training from Wednesday, Sept. 5, through Friday, Sept. 7.
Wednesday, Sept. 5: 9 a.m. to noon in the Ross Aragon Community Center West Conference Room; we’ll cover introductions, broad topics and protocols.
Thursday and Friday, Sept. 6-7: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Four Mile Ranch; we’ll cover the different kindergarten through fourth-grade lessons, walk the trails at the ranch and answer questions.
