http://www.pagosasun.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/obit-Jim-A-212x300.jpgJames Eugene Angelo was born in Coon Rapids, Minn., on Feb. 23, 1934, and passed away at Mercy Hospital on Aug. 15 due to complications of a broken hip and pneumonia.

Jim was a graduate of Anoka, Minn., High School class of 1952. He was a member of the National Honor Society, National Athletic Scholarship Society, a recipient of the Bausch Lomb Award and was Senior Class President. He was in the National Guard while attending the University of Minnesota, and later in the U.S. Army. In 1969, he came to Aspen to ski with friends and stayed while managing a lodge. In Stagecoach, Colo., he married Susan Fawcett in May 1973. They discovered Pagosa on their honeymoon and moved here in 1974. Jim was a salesman for Eaton International and then the managing broker and a partner in Pagosa Realty Inc. aka Remax Pagosa Realty Inc., until he retired. Pagosa Realty Inc. was one of the first real estate firms in Pagosa Springs, and Jim made many lifelong friends there.

In his younger years, Jim loved to ski, play tennis, hunt and joke. He was an avid reader and Broncos fan. Jim is survived by his wife, Sue, with whom he had 45 mostly wonderful years. He was a caring father to their son, Michael James. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ray, and is survived by two younger sisters, Pat Meyers in Eagan, Minn., and Marsha Cockran in British Columbia, Canada.

Jim will be greatly missed as a warm and caring friend to many. Private family services will be held.
