The San Juan Shootists, Pagosa Springs’ local chapter of the Cowboy Fast Draw Association, are again hosting the Cowboy Fast Draw Colorado State and Four Corners Championships in Town Park.
Want to see a real old west gunfight? Attend the Showdown on the San Juan River Thursday, July 26, through Sunday, July 29.
Thursday and Friday, July 26 and 27, you will find shooters competing in the Cowboy Fast Draw Colorado State Championships. Competitions begin at 9 a.m. each day. Championships will be Thursday afternoon at about 2 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29, marksmen will participate in the The Cowboy Fast Draw Four Corners Territorial Championships. Competitions begin at 9 a.m. each day. Championships will be Sunday afternoon at about 2 p.m.
All events will be held at the Town Park athletic field downtown.
Spectators and participants alike have the opportunity to relive the history of the area and the romance and culture of the old west.
The San Juan Shootists’ mission is to promote and teach safe and responsible firearm handling. Cowboy Fast Draw is a friendly sport that teaches and promotes courtesy, integrity, sportsmanship and the cowboy way.
The public is invited. There is no admission.
