Last Friday, Pagosa Springs High School global science students toured the Blanco Diversion and Tunnel, located in the Upper Blanco Basin. The tour was hosted by Carolyn Donnelly and Dagmar Llewellyn out of the Bureau of Reclamation’s Albuquerque office. Also on the tour were hydrologists, engineers, water managers and climate scientists from around the west. The Blanco Diversion and Tunnel are part of the San Juan-Chama Project, which redirects water under the Continental Divide and eventually to Albuquerque, N.M., and the Rio Grande Valley.
