Wolf Creek Christian Writer’s Network to host Durango writer Saturday

The Wolf Creek Christian Writer’s Network is hosting CJ Alderton for a writing workshop on Saturday April 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at Crossroad Christian Fellowship, 1044 Park Ave.

Questions and discussion will follow.

Serving as pastor for Patrick Crossing Church, chaplain for Durango Fire and Rescue and president of the Durango Celtic Society, Alderton manages to find time to write a daily blog titled “Graceful Notions” that reaches people around the world.

Winner of the 2016 Grand Prize for the Durango Arts Center 10-Minute Play Contest with “Aengus and D’Arcy on a Bench in Dublin,” Alderton also wrote the 2017 summer show for the Henry Strater Theatre titled “The Legend of Danny Boy.” It involved members of the Patrick Crossing Celtic Band. Alderton plays guitar and helps with vocals for the band.

He and his wife, Jan, live in Durango. Together, they published a children’s book titled “Sam The Mailbox.” Alderton is presently working on a book that dramatizes the Stations of the Cross.
