Increasing high winds throughout the region are now causing damage to La Plata Electric Association’s distribution system. At this writing, widespread outages are reported, with some 780 customers out of power throughout La Plata and Archuleta counties.
Reports indicate a fire has been sparked in Archuleta County on the 3000 block of County Road 500 from a downed line.
