Anna Marie Maez, 72, of Pagosa Springs, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 2.
Anna was born April 14, 1945, in Durango, Colo., to Ross and Lucy Maestas. She graduated from Pagosa Springs High School in 1963.
On Sept. 28, 1968, she married the love of her life, George Maez.
Anna loved bingo, casinos, her Colorado Rockies, Denver Broncos and spending time with all her nieces, nephews and her special friends, Helen Schoonover, Pauline Rivas, Stella Martinez and Laura Rand.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and devout Catholic.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Lucy, and her grandmother, Antointa Valdez.
Anna is survived by her loving husband, George; her daughter, Georgia Haiduk and husband, Alberic; her son, Aaron Maez; and her sister, Patsy Martinez, and husband Joe Dan and family. She had six grandkids: Harley Foster and wife Ashton, Samantha Kisselburg and husband Jermey, Sandra Massey and husband Jeremy, Andrea Hunt and husband Heath, all from Texas; Shon Maez, from Tulsa, Okla.; and Morgan Maez, from Las Vegas, Nev.; 14 great-grandchildren; and many friends and family.
Rosary services will be held on Oct. 5 at 6 p.m. and funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Oct. 6, both at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
