Former resident Maudie Ruth Baker passed away on Sept. 18 in Colorado Springs.
Maudie was born in Pagosa Springs on April 14, 1930, to Thelma and Hughey Risinger. She graduated from Pagosa Springs High School. She was the mother of former Pagosa Springs resident Terry (Jennifer) Alley. In 1950, she married Larry Baker and they were married for 59 years. They spent their early years involved in construction projects across the United States and their later years raising cattle in the San Luis Valley. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, brothers Bobby and Hugh Dan and her husband Larry. She is survived by sons Terry, David and Joe, and sister Cassie. A graveside memorial service will be held in Pagosa Springs at a later date.
