Special to The PREVIEW

Women affiliated with a collegiate sorority are invited to attend the 12th annual Panhellenic Luncheon on Aug. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the San Juan Marketplace at 356 E. Pagosa Street, next to Ski and Bow Rack.

Last year’s luncheon included 31 women who attended a variety of universities and colleges in the U.S. and Canada and are members of 15 different national sorority organizations. The afternoon is a wonderful time for a relaxing lunch and catching up with old friends while enjoying the new friends that you will meet.

The cost of the luncheon is $20 and includes the entrée, key lime tart, iced tea, water, taxes and tips. Alcoholic beverages and specialty coffees may be purchased.

A reservation for this luncheon must be made by Aug. 1 by responding to Kathy Lansdale at gklansdale@msn.com or (505) 486-5098. Please specify your menu choice. Allergies to cilantro, wheat or dairy can be accommodated by the restaurant and should be indicated with your reservation. If you have not attended this event in the past two years, please include your full name, phone, email, sorority and college where you initiated.

Attendees will pay upon arrival at the restaurant with cash, credit card or a local check. Menu choices will include chopped romaine salad with orange cumin dressing or the house specialty arepas. Arepas is a thick South American cornmeal tortilla served open faced and topped with a filling that includes a mixture of meat, vegetable and cheese. The filling choices are carne asada, grilled shrimp, grilled chicken or portabello mushroom. Additional menu descriptions have been provided in the email invitation and will be available at the restaurant.

All Panhellenic women in the area are invited. We look forward to welcoming the traditional attendees, as well as new faces, to this special event. The planning committee consists of Lansdale, Delta Gamma; Sherry Spears, Delta Delta Delta; and Lisa Scott, Pi Beta Phi.
