Resolution of dispute over town sewage nears

At a special meeting on April 14 in its capacity as the board of the Pagosa Springs Sanitation General Improvement District (PSSGID), the Pagosa Springs Town Council moved toward resolution of its dispute with Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District (PAWSD).

The dispute concerns the sewer pipeline completed late last year at a cost of $6.85 million. The pipeline is to deliver effluent from the town to the modern PAWSD sewage treatment plant in the Vista subdivision, west of town, where it can be treated in compliance with environmental regulations.
