Fixture causes fire at hospital

PFPD firefighters enter Pagosa Springs Medical Center on Saturday, March 12, to respond to a fire. The fire was caused by a light fixture that overheated, but was extinguished by the time PFPD personnel arrived on the scene.

On Saturday, March 12, Pagosa Fire Protection District (PFPD) personnel were dispatched to Pagosa Springs Medical Center (PSMC), on South Pagosa Boulevard, to respond to a fire.

According to the PFPD’s incident report, the alarm was triggered at 8:45 a.m., with PFPD personnel arriving to the scene at 8:52 a.m. The last unit cleared the scene at 10:21 a.m.
