The unemployment rate for Archuleta County rose to 3.5 percent in January, with 6,175 people in the labor force and 214 of those claiming unemployment.
In December of 2015, there were 6,083 people in the county’s labor force, with 202, or 3.3 percent, claiming unemployment. The total workforce gained 92 people over the month, while the number of unemployed people was up by 12, causing the increase in unemployment of two-tenths of a percent.
