Colorado caucuses lead to calls for reform

Last week, 353 registered Republicans attended precinct caucuses in Archuleta County, but unlike their counterparts attending Democrat caucuses, had no formal opportunity to express a preference for a presidential candidate. The same disparity existed throughout Colorado.

The lack of any presidential preference poll at the Republican caucuses during this contentious campaign season provoked some concern. An explanation was provided to The SUN on March 8 by Jim Huffman, chairman of the local Republican Party.
