Land exchange considered for Dry Gulch pool basin

Posted

On Monday, Feb. 8, the San Juan Water Conservancy District (SJWCD) held its regular meeting, during which the board approved a contract with the Western Land Group (WLG) to evaluate how the SJWCD can acquire the remainder of the pool basin for the proposed Dry Gulch Reservoir.

According to SJWCD President Rod Proffitt, the SJWCD must choose whether or not it will proceed with a special-use permit or a land exchange with the U.S. Forest Service to acquire the remainder of the pool basin.
