In their capacity as the board of Pagosa Springs Sanitation Improvement District (PSSGID), members of the Pagosa Springs Town Council received an update from town Sanitation Supervisor Gene Tautges on the new sewage pipeline at their meeting Tuesday evening, Feb. 2.

When operational, the pipeline will be used to transport raw sewage from the town to the Pagosa Area Water and Sanitation District (PAWSD) Vista sewage treatment plant, where it will be treated in compliance with modern environmental standards. That will allow the town’s obsolete sewage treatment lagoons to be decommissioned.
