Special to The PREVIEW

Nothing says “love” like a carefully prepared homemade meal, a meal filled to the brim with tasty treats. St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church will be handing out its special gifts of love to the guests of Loaves and Fishes hot lunch ministry today at the Parish Hall on Lewis Street.

Thanksgiving is a time to share and St. Patrick’s does that in spades with freshly roasted turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls and homemade pies for dessert. This delicious meal will be served free of charge today to all who come to share in the feast.

Yesterday, a team of around 20 people from St. Patrick’s gathered to start cooking turkeys and preparing ingredients for all the side dishes. Today, even more will be on hand to cook, serve the meals, cut the pies, fill drink orders, wash dishes and clean the Parish Hall when all is finished.

There is no charge for the meal. People from the community simply show up to find that they are treated as honored guests. The camaraderie, laughter and sighs of satisfaction from a full stomach are a sign that the feast has been enjoyed by all who attend.
