The unofficial results for the Archuleta County coordinated election are in, with Lisl Keuning winning a seat on the Archuleta School District (ASD) Board of Education.
The results listed below will remain unofficial until Nov. 13 in compliance with state statute and to allow for any additional ballots to come in under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA), as well as allowing voters to sign ballots that were received unsigned or with a signature discrepancy.
According to June Madrid, Archuleta County clerk and recorder, Nov. 12 is the last day to receive ballots from overseas and clear any signature discrepancies.
Official vote totals will be released no later than Friday, Nov. 13, Madrid explained.
Archuleta School District
In District 4, Keuning won with a total of 2,177 votes, defeating her opponent, Bill Hudson, who garnered 901 votes.
“I feel like I learned a lot in the election process,” commented Keuning. She went on to express how happy she is to begin serving on the school board.
Keuning will serve a four-year term on the ASD board.
In District 3, Greg Schick tallied 2,398 votes to earn a second four-year term on the board. Schick ran unopposed.
In District 2, Jason Peterson received 2,272 votes to earn a four-year term on the board. Peterson also ran unopposed.
