Special to The PREVIEW

Mark your calendar for the ever-popular Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 7.

This annual event, sponsored by the Mountain View Homemakers, is truly the start of the holiday season in Pagosa.

The bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ross Aragon Community Center. Parking is at a premium, so we recommend carpooling.

Artists and craftsmen from Pagosa and throughout western Colorado and New Mexico are bringing unique, handcrafted items for this special event. Fifty booths will display Christmas decorations, pottery, jewelry, quilts, clothing, fabric art, home decor, birdhouses, dolls, soaps and lotions, and even jams and jellies.

In addition to the booths, the silent auction will feature wonderful gift baskets created by Homemakers’ club members, as well as some specialty items. Themed baskets will feature Christmas, dogs, wine, gardening, baby girl, south of the border, greeting cards, Choke Cherry Tree, kitchen, scarves, rainy day play, spa day and much more. An antique quilt and a modern quilt will also be included in the auction.

There will be a “Buy It Now” price for every item in the silent auction in addition to the silent bidding process. Come early to see if there is a basket, for example, that you really love and want to buy right then. Silent bidding will close at 1 p.m.

The Pagosa Springs Girls Choir is sponsoring the bake sale this year. Look forward to wonderful cakes, cookies, brownies and more.

When you’re hungry or want to visit with friends, enjoy delicious homemade snacks, lunch and beverages at the cafe. Proceeds will benefit the award-winning Destination Imagination NERDS.

Come to the bazaar to shop and to visit with friends when you need a break.

The Homemakers want you to know that the bazaar is actually a charity fundraiser that benefits local nonprofits. This is a great way to shop locally and to benefit your own community. We look forward to seeing you on Nov. 7.
