Sign up now for final hunter education classes of the year

The last two hunter education classes in Pagosa Springs are scheduled for the following dates:

• First class — Oct. 15 and 16.

• Second class — Oct. 29 and 30.

Classes are held 5:30-10 p.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday.

Students must attend both Thursday and Friday classes.

Classes are held at the San Juan Mounted Patrol Building, 302 San Juan St. The cost is $10.

These courses will be open to anyone wishing to obtain a hunter safety card. If you were born on or after Jan. 1, 1949, you are required to have a hunter safety card before purchasing a hunting license.

These will be the last classes taught in Pagosa Springs in 2015. Students should register online prior to the class. To register, go to and click on “Hunter Education.” Then click on “find a course at a place and time to fit your schedule” at the top of the page and follow the directions.
