Special to The PREVIEW

The Pagosa Springs Photography Club is pleased to announce its annual photo print exhibit, slated to open on Oct. 2 and continue through Oct. 30.

The exhibit will begin with a public opening-night reception from 5 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 2. Light refreshments will be available.

The exhibit will be held at Pagosa Photography, located at 480 San Juan St., across the street from the county courthouse.

The purpose of this year’s exhibit is to display the photography work of club members in particular, as well as other photography enthusiasts in the area.

Club members and others are invited to drop off up to four prints for the exhibit on either Sept. 28 or 29, not later than 4 p.m. each day, at Pagosa Photography. Prints must be accompanied by a completed entry form, available at the gallery. Entry fees for club members will be $5 per print, and for nonmembers the fee is $15 per print. Fees are payable with cash or by check.

Prints may include color, black and white or sepia, framed and matted prints (plain black frame with white or off-white matting, no colored matting), canvas prints, “thin” wraps or metallic prints. Prints must be completely ready for hanging, with picture wire firmly attached to the print/frame. No clip frames. The minimum print size is 8 inches by 10 inches. No maximum frame/print size is specified beyond a “reasonable” size with respect to other prints. However, final acceptance will be governed by existing gallery space.

The mission of the Pagosa Springs Photography Club is to encourage networking amongst all skill levels of photographers in the Pagosa Springs area, and to expand the exchange of knowledge to enable members to increase their expertise and achieve their personal photographic and artistic goals. To fulfill its mission, the club carries out a program of monthly meetings featuring guest speakers and photo critiques, field trips, workshops, mentoring with experienced members, an annual exhibit and other opportunities to meet, network and socialize with other photographers.

Photography enthusiasts at all levels of ability are invited to attend club meetings at no charge for the first meeting. If interested, you are invited to join for annual dues of $25 for individuals, $35 for a family membership and $10 for a student membership.
