Pagosa Care Conference for seniors and caregivers set for Sept. 15

The Pagosa Care Conference, with the theme “Taking Good Care of Yourself and Others,” will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at the Ross Aragon Community Center.

The event will feature encouragement, education and resource networking for seniors and senior caregivers. There will be guest speakers, informational sessions, a provider/resource fair and an informational packet, as well as prizes.

Snacks and lunch will be provided.

Session topics include: Caring for Yourself and Your Loved One, Advanced Directives, Home Safety Is Bone Safety, Dementia Survival Skills, Care Options and Payment Sources, Helpful and Healing Therapy Activities and a professional question-and-answer panel.

Oktoberfest 2015

Oktoberfest will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Quality Resort (The View Restaurant).

The event will be fun for the family. Join us for dancing and singing with the Paukenschlagel Band.

German food, as well as beer, wine and nonalcoholic beverages will be available at the cash bar.

Advance tickets are $12 for adults and $5 for children 5 to 12 years; at the door they will be $15 for adults and $7 for children 5 to 12 years. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Pagosa Springs Senior Center.
