The San Juan Basin Area Agency on Aging (SJBAAA) has grant funds available under the Older Americans Act to assist low- and very low-income individuals, age 60 years and above, with material aid and dental needs.

Material aid assistance covers up to $500 for dentures, bridges, crowns, hearing aids, eye glasses and PERS (personal emergency response system).

Dental assistance covers up to $300 of dental work, such as fluoride varnishing, fillings for cavities, tooth extractions, X-rays, root canals and cleaning and overall preventive care for maximum oral health.

Grants are limited, available on a first-come, first-served basis and are intended to be a last resort. Please exhaust other options first, such as insurance that you may have; establishing a payment plan with your provider; social groups, churches and senior organizations in your community; or other privately or publicly funded programs that may be able to assist you.
