obit-Lynda-Williams-PortraitLynda Ann (Pleše) Williams passed away peacefully after an admirable struggle with cancer in the presence of her loving husband, Paul, and her three daughters at Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver on Aug. 26 after 67 years of life lived to the fullest.

Lynda was born on March 9, 1948, in Gallup, N.M., to Rose Mary and Joseph Pleše. She graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1970 with a degree in teaching and home economics with a minor in math. She married her college sweetheart, Paul Williams, a law enforcement officer, in 1970. After moving to Albuquerque, N.M., Lynda worked for various financial institutions before sacrificing her professional interests four years later to focus on her daughters. Over the next four years, the couple welcomed three daughters into their home. Her daughters remember her as a patient and loving mother who was driven by a desire to raise three loving women who were successful in all of their life’s pursuits.

Lynda’s faith in Christ was paramount and served as a strong foundation for raising her family and it showed every day in her smile, her positive outlook on life and the love she showed for everyone around her, and the energy she put into the Catholic Church. She had a passion for growing flowers, as evidenced by her home, was a talented pianist and seamstress and could be found regularly indulging her love of football on weekends in the Pagosa Springs home she so thoroughly adored.

Lynda is survived by her mother, Rose Mary (Radosevich) Pleše; her husband, Paul; her daughters, Andrea (Williams) Gresko, Niki (Williams) Campbell and Ruthanne (Williams) Fairweather; her sister, Debby (Pleše) Blossey; her brothers, Greg Pleše, Anthony Pleše and Rick Pleše; and 10 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Pleše; her brothers, Stanley Pleše and Joseph Pleše; and her niece, Brittany Blossey.

A rosary will be recited during a remembrance service Friday evening, Sept.4, at 6 p.m. at Pope John Paul II Catholic Church, located at 353 S. Pagosa Blvd.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, also at Pope John Paul II Catholic Church, with a reception to follow at Lynda and Paul’s home at 85 Walnut Place, Pagosa Springs. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lynda’s life.
