Back-to-school: Everything you need to know

Posted

Parents and students are strongly encouraged to attend their school’s open house in order to prepare for the upcoming year.

Each open house will give students and parents an opportunity to meet teachers, find and sign up for their bus route, set up parent online accounts, connect with volunteer opportunities and receive locker combinations.

The school district principals want to emphasize that coming to an open house is the easiest way to connect families to teachers, finalize paper work and verify communication methods.

It will also give students a chance to familiarize themselves with their school, locker combinations and schedules.

According to middle school principal Chris Hinger, the open house is the best way to establish a partnership between the schools and parents, and to begin opening lines of communication.

If you are unable to attend, you can obtain all necessary information in each school office Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Open houses will be held at each respective school. The schedule is as follows:

• Kindergarten: Tuesday, Sept. 1, 4:30-6 p.m.

• Grades 1-4: Thursday, Sept. 3, 4:30-6:30 p.m.

• Grade 5: Thursday, Sept. 3, 6-8 p.m.

• Grades 6-8: Wednesday, Sept. 2, 6-8 p.m.
